Every year since the end of World War I, the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth have marked Remembrance Day on the Sunday closest to the 11th of November, to remember those fallen in all conflicts. This has been the UK’s date for commemoration since the end of the First World War when the guns fell silent on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918.
Chargé d’Affaires of the British Embassy Paul Morris was joined by the Heads of other Diplomatic Missions in Armenia, Armenian officials, representatives of the British and Commonwealth communities and others in Yerevan’s Victory Park to lay wreaths and flowers at the Eternal
Flame and observe a two-minute silence in memory of those who lost their lives as a result of all conflicts.
The Remembrance Service also included a prayer officiated by Very Reverend Father Grigoris Shokhikyan.
