The purpose of the draft is to extend the validity period of the law for another three years: The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan noted, presenting the draft law on Amending the Law on Social Support of Border Communities at the extraordinary sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Protection on November 15.
The Deputy Minister mentioned that the issue of providing some support to the residents of the border settlements included in the list approved by the RA Government was taken into consideration in the form of real estate tax, utility payments, electricity supply, irrigation water and a number of social allowances. Vache Terteryan informed that in case of extension of the law for another three years, monitoring will be carried out to find out how efficiently it works.
The Committee also debated the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Financial Equalization.
No proposals were presented on the draft laws submitted for debate in the second reading. The Committee endorsed the drafts.
