The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea handed over the copy of his credentials to the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia

On November 15, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan received Lee Dohun, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Armenia, on the occasion of handing over the copy of his credentials (residence in Moscow).

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia congratulated the newly-appointed Ambassador on the occasion of his appointment and wished him every success during his tenure. The sides commended the active cooperation established on bilateral and multilateral platforms, as well as mutual willingness to develop and deepen political dialogue, diplomatic and economic ties. An agreement was reached to intensify political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of both countries.

During the meeting, the interlocutors touched upon the bilateral partnership in different formats, legal framework, discussed the joint work in the spheres of culture, healthcare and information technology, and the possibility of implementing programs towards the exchange of expertise in the field of public administration.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia thoroughly presented the situation in the region, in particular, the humanitarian situation resulting from the forced displacement of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh and the military attack by Azerbaijan, as well as Armenia’s efforts to establish lasting peace in the region, presenting to the interlocutor the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative of the Government of Armenia.

The Ambassador thanked for the warm reception and assured that he will spare no effort to further develop Armenian-Korean interaction.
