On November 29, in Skopje, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
During the meeting, issues of expanding the Armenia-EU partnership agenda were discussed. Ararat Mirzoyan and Josep Borrell thoroughly elaborated on the existing perspectives and efforts undertaken to further bring Armenia closer to the EU and ensure tangible results for the citizens.
The interlocutors touched upon the effective discussions held recently in Yerevan and Brussels with the participation of representatives of the EU and EU member states acknowledging the readiness and steps taken by the parties to realize the ambitious Armenia-EU agenda.
As a continuation of the meeting held in Granada in October, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the EU HRVP discussed security issues in the South Caucasus. Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of diplomatic efforts aimed at deterring any aspirations towards the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Armenia, implementing regional inclusive programs and establishing lasting stability. In this context, Minister Mirzoyan also presented the “Crossroads of Peace” program developed by the government of the Republic of Armenia.
