Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Lithuania Ara Margarian, presented his Letters of Credence to President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda.
During the tete-a-tete conversation following the official ceremony, President Nauseda congratulated Ambassador Margarian on assuming the office and wished him success in carrying out his responsible mission.
During the meeting a wide range of issues of the Armenian-Lithuanian bilateral agenda was discussed. Interlocutors commended the level of political dialogue between the two countries, emphasizing the need of expanding cooperation in different sectors. They particularly highlighted the role of the European Union in ensuring the continuity of the ongoing reform process in Armenia.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on the security situation in the South Caucasus. Ara Margarian presented in detail the efforts of the Government of Armenia towards establishing long term peace and stability in the region and normalizing relations with Azerbaijan, as well as addressing the needs and rights of the Armenians forcibly displaced following the ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh.
