The Parliament debated the issue of adopting the amendments to the law on Internal Audit in the first reading at the NA regular sitting on December 11.
The Deputy Chairman of the RA State Revenue Committee Artur Manukyan clarified that specifying regulations were proposed. According to the current legislation, the Head of the Internal Audit Daepartment can be civil and community employees.
Artur Manukyan noted that there is a legislative contradiction: In the State Revenue Committee, for instance, it is a special service. “We make this provision a public service so that this contradiction disappears,” he said.
With the limitation of the law on Internal Audit, persons who have been heads of a separate structural unit or an independent unit during the last two years cannot be appointed as a Head of the Internal Audit department. It is proposed to change this term to one year.
