“Tsili Tsov” LAG is one of the eight Local Active Groups created in Armenia by the EU LEDAER community development methodology, which was officially established in July 2022 within the framework of the EU-LEAD4Lori and Tavush Regions project, including ten rural and one urban settlement of Berd community of Tavush region with a population of about 20,000.
Achievements so far: Backed by the EULEAD4Lori and Tavush Regions project and following the LEADER methodology, the LAG was formed by the representatives of the public, private and civil sectors coming from the settlements within the LAG, with further formation of LAG Accounting Body and a Secretariat.
Under the guidance of international and national experts the LAG developed a strategic development plan based on its development priorities, several dozens of capacity development trainings were conducted for LAG members , study tours were organised to a number of EU and EaP countries implementing LEADER to learn their experience and successfully adapt it locally.
Recently the LAG funded around 19 grant projects out of the received 120 project ideas aimed at the development of innovative agriculture, tourism, enhancing the roles of the women and youth in the LAG territory.
Next steps: The LAG will continue its targeted actions towards implementation of initiatives and projects aimed at sustainable development of the settlements within its territory embarking on creation of fundamental values, social and economic prosperity of the locals, enhancing participatory involvement in community-related problems and decisions through close cooperation with local authorities.
Another 3 cycles of grants are envisaged as well based on the strategic development priorities of the LAG to continue building of the social and economic development of Berd community.
It will be easier and more efficient to implement the plans above having a refurbished and equippeդ office space to be used for the upcoming meetings, workshops and networking events.
