The aim of the draft is to make the Probation Service a separate type of state service: The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Levon Balyan said this at the extraordinary sitting of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs on December 19. The Committee debated the draft law on Probation Service in the second reading, as well as the legislative package on Making Amendments and Addendum to the draft law on Probation Service and the enclosed laws.
Levon Balyan noted that the service provides house arrest and administrative control, as well as the implementation of alternative measures of restraint, provided for by the Criminal Procedure Code.
According to him, the Probation Service also implements the measures of criminal legal intervention against legal entities.
The presented package of draft laws will regulate the specifics of the organization and operation of the service as a separate type of state service, the principles of the service, the problems, the order of entering the service and the conditions of the service. The rights, duties, responsibility, legal and social guarantees of the employees regarding the service will also be regulated.
