The protocol on Amending the Memorandum of Understanding on Exempt from the Requirement to obtain an Entry Visa the Persons holding Diplomatic Passports between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was signed on September 7, 2023: The RA Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan said at the NA extraordinary session convened.
“The cooperation between the two countries dynamically develops in almost all spheres, there inclusive bilateral agenda,” the Deputy Minister underlined. According to him, the UAE is the first trade partner of the Republic of Armenia in the region.
It was noted that the direct air connection with the cities of the UAE also served as a transit for the citizens of Armenia to travel to different directions of the Near and Middle East, Asia and Africa.
As the rapporteur informed, as a result of the ratification of the presented protocol, the citizens holding passports with not less than 6-month ratification term, can enter, go out and move by transit through the relevant countries without the entry visa and payment. Passports exempt from the requirement of obtaining entry visa are considered the valid, diplomatic, special, official and ordinary passports of the two countries. The citizens of the parties holding the mentioned passports are allowed to be in the territory of the other’s country maximum 90 days.
