The Gardmanians, Shirvanians and Nakhichevanians scattered all over the world,

Several days ago a small exhibition of preserved relics from the lost a century ago Gardman, Shirvan and Nakhichevan provinces of our historical homeland opened at the Museum of Armenian History in Yerevan.

Presented here are relics and clay pots from 13-11 centuries B.C., as well as carpets, medieval trays, women’s costumes, cross-stones, photos of the towns of Akulis and Nakhichevan. This small exposition transported us all to the ancestral legends retold by our relatives, to the cozy corners of our homeland, our childhood, to our gardens and streets, to the wide balconies of our houses, to our villages and churches, to the graves of our grandparents, and the quiet sound of rivers, the chiming of church bells and the ringing of school bells sounded in our ears again, while the pictures of the cities reminded us of the song about the death of the “magnificent city of Adana” in Cilicia and the carpet panel “Mother Armenia mourns the death of Armenian cities”.

Today, this exhibition hall is more than a modest testimony to the rights of a nation of many thousands of years, whose territories are currently occupied by the descendants of the wild tribes of the Altai and Volga. Today, while we were trusting in our indisputable rights, we have a new loss – and again occurred the genocidal depatriation of the Armenian population this time of the Republic of Artsakh.

Compatriots, wherever you are at present, no matter how widely dispersed, preserve and pass on to your descendants a sense of complicity to the achievements of your ancestors and the desire to return and serve the Motherland, because only at Home do we rediscover the God-given and nature-given roots of our survival, laid down in us since the formation of the Armenians as a nation.

Congratulations to the Gardmanians, Shirvanians and Nakhichevanians scattered all over the world on the upcoming New Year and Holy Christmas, may the coming times become years of our reunion and unification of forces, turning to the origins of our formation, strengthening the prosperous Republic of Armenia and all peoples of good will around it — the years of crystallization of collective will. This is both a requirement of modernity, the greatest covenant of our ancestors, and the desire of our soul.

And may our enemies be honored with the fate they planned for us, may they be fed up with their hatred and rejection of someone else’s well-being.
