According to the Code of Administrative Offenses, liability in the amount of 100.000 AMD is provided for driving a vehicle without a mandatory insurance contract. With the proposed regulation, if a person eliminates the features of the offense within 24 hours after committing an administrative offense, they are released from the obligation to pay 75% of the fine. Citizens sign a compulsory motor third-party liability insurance (CMTPLI) contract, pays not 100.000 AMD, but 25% of the fine (25.000 AMD). It is proposed to make the above-mentioned amendment in Article 129.2.7 of the Code.
In the sitting of January 11, the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security debated in the second reading the draft law on Amending the RA Code on Administrative Offenses, which was authored by the deputy Eduard Aghajanyan.
In the co-report, the Deputy Chair of the Committee Armen Khachatryan noted that the imposed fine does not correspond to the degree of danger and nature of the offense. He informed that it was decided to change the sanction and reduce the amount of the fine.
The co-rapporteur, the RA Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan informed that there were proposals of a technical nature during the period from the first to the second reading, which were accepted.
