The idea of amending the law on Prosecutor’s Office emerged during the debate of the issue on budgetary allocations of the Prosecutor’s Office to the preliminary debates of the draft law on State Budget 2024 in the National Assembly: the deputy of the Civil Contract Faction Arpine Davoyan said, presenting the amendments to the laws on Prosecutor’s Office and Investigative Committee.
The author proposes the to replace the demand at least of three-year professional work during the last five years established for person included in the list of the prosecutors’ candidates to release from the teaching courses and examinations in the Academy of Justice by the demand of at least two-year professional work.
According to the rapporteur, during the last period the reforms being made in the system of prosecutor’s office resulted in the increase of the number of the persons wishing to hold the prosecutor’s position, especially among the young persons who graduated from the higher educational institution.
It was noted that during the debate of the initiative the proposal presented by the colleagues of the Investigative Committee referred to the demand of replacing the three-year work by the demand of at least two-year professional work. The proposal was accepted by the author.
