On February 15, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Nikolai Denkov received the delegation led by the RA NA President Alen Simonyan being on an official visit in Bulgaria .

The NA President thanked the Prime Minister of Bulgaria for warm reception and underscored the importance of the Armenia-Bulgaria dialogue in bilateral format.

“Armenia attaches great importance to the stable development of friendly relations and strengthening of political dialogue with Bulgaria. I am sure that this visit will give new impetus to the close relations historically established between our two countries,” the RA NA President noted.

Nikolai Denkov underscored that the common values of our two countries are in the basis of friendly relations with Armenia, which are reinforcing and are continuously developing due to democratic stable bases and vision.

“We have great respect towards history and culture of Armenia,” the Prime Minister of Bulgaria mentioned.

Touching upon the cooperation within the framework of the European Union, the Head of Parliament of Armenia underscored that Armenian side highly appreciates the continuous support of the Republic of Bulgaria in strengthening of Armenia-EU relations, particularly within the framework of the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.

The Head of Parliament of Armenia presented to the Prime Minister of Bulgaria the security problems existing in the region, reaffirmed the position of Armenia in the process of establishing peace in the region.

“Despite the security challenges created in the region by Azerbaijan, which was again displayed on February 13, the Armenian side is faithful to the establishment of stability and peace in South Caucasus. Our vision is constant and is based on the principles of territorial integrity and recognition of state borders, according to the Almaty Declaration of December 1991,” Alen Simonyan underlined.

At the meeting a wide scope of issues regarding the bilateral cooperation on trade-economic, military, cultural and other spheres were discussed.
