Your visit to Armenia is unprecedented in terms of the development of Armenian-Danish parliamentary relations. Welcoming the parliamentary delegation of the Kingdom of Denmark, the Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the RA National Assembly Sargis Khandanyan said.
The members of the Standing Committees on Foreign Relations, European Integration and Defense and Security attended the meeting held on March 7.
“Armenia is going through a rather difficult path in the recent period. And on this way we need friends: I am sure that Denmark is a friendly country of Armenia,” Sargis Khandanyan underlined.

Speaking about the bilateral relations, the Committee Chair stated that there is an unrealized potential between the two countries and especially in the inter-parliamentary relations.
The Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Danish Parliament Lise Bech thanked for the warm welcome and mentioned that the purpose of the visit to Armenia is to strengthen Armenia’s relations with both Denmark and the European Union. “Denmark and Armenia are small countries, and we understand the importance of having allies,” the guest underscored.
The Armenian parliamentarians touched upon the security situation created in our country after the 2020 war, the ongoing process of the peace treaty with Azerbaijan.
Speaking about the RA-EU relations, in this context, the deputies of the National Assembly highly appreciated Denmark’s support in deploying the EU Civilian Observation Mission on the border of Armenia.
The necessity for the development of bilateral relations at the parliamentary level was addressed. Regarding the implementation of the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, the cooperation between the competent Committees of the two parliamentarians was highlighted.
