On behalf of the Faction I would like to express our satisfaction for all efforts of France that during our history were addressed to the Armenian people’s protection, and today those efforts continue. The Head of the RA NA Armenia Faction Seyran Ohanyan said this, receiving the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Olivier Decottignies on March 12.
Thanking the MP for the meeting, the Ambassador noted that the last months were marked by the tragic events of Nagorno Karabakh, which made France to develop the cooperation with Armenia in the humanitarian, as well as security sectors. The Ambassador was interested in the viewpoints of the Armenia Faction, which referred to those painful events, the inner-political life of Armenia and the regional security.
Both sides underscored the historically formed Armenian-French friendly and warm relations.
Reference was made to the issues regarding situation formed around the Republic of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, the regional situation and security, the Armenian-French cooperation procedure in the sphere of defense.

Seyran Ohanyan presented to the Ambassador the chronology of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the wards unleashed by Azerbaijan and the numerous violations of the achieved agreements, the attitude not complying with the international accepted norms. The Head of the Faction underlined the importance of imposing pressures and sanctions against Azerbaijan by the international community for the crimes committed by that country, which are expressed by the crimes committed against the people, the war crimes and the fact of not returning the captives.
