It is proposed to establish a state duty for a number of services provided in aviation sector

March 14,2024 11:15

Along with regulatory and control functions, the RA Civil Aviation Committee is currently providing a number of services for which no state duty or fee is charged. Studying the international experience, the Committee found out that similar services are provided on a paid basis in several countries of the world. The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Armen Simonyan spoke about this at the sitting of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs on March 13. The Deputy Chair of the Committee Babken Tunyan moderated it.

Presenting the addenda to the Laws on State Duty and on Aviation in the first reading, the rapporteur noted that the Government proposes to establish a state duty for 13 groups of services.

“The amount of the duty for the services provided by the initiative was calculated on a person/hour basis, taking into consideration the actual working time currently spent for the specified service, the resources used, the nature of the service and the combinations of fees in international practice,” he underscored.

Answering the deputies’ questions, Armen Simonyan touched upon the provision of quality services in the aviation sector, the involvement of qualified specialists in the Committee, the use of air tax, etc.

According to the results of the financial and economic examination of the NA Expertise and Analytical Department, the package of drafts needs to be reinterpreted and revised from the perspective of financial and economic issues.

The initiative was approved by the Committee.
