Committee on Health Care debates in second reading a number of legislative initiatives
On March 22, the Standing Committee on Health Care convened an extraordinary sitting. Narek Zeynalyan moderated it.
A number of legislative initiatives authored by the Government were debated in the second reading.
It is proposed to introduce an individual licensing system of medical professionals in our country by the package of draft laws on Making Amendments and Addenda to the law on Medical Aid and Service to Population and the enclosed presented ones, which will promote the increase of quality of medical aid in Armenia.

According to the RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, the amendments made in the package from the first to the second reading are the result of the working debates held jointly with the Committee.
“Besides some editorial amendments, changes were also made in the content. Taking into consideration the fact of the medical professionals’ register operation and the introduction of the Individual Licensing Institute, the functions of the National Certification Centre for Activity Professionals were reviewed.
“The senior, average medical professionals, the clinical residents: the junior medical professionals were not included,” the rapporteur informed.
The authorizing norms related to implementing expertise activity will be regulated with the circulation of advertisement, drugs by the package of draft laws on making Addenda and Amendments to the law on Drugs and the enclosed ones.
Narek Zeynalyan proposed the participants to give power to the Government to establish the order of preserving and transportation of organs. The proposal was accepted.
The Committee approved the debated initiatives in the second reading.
