Young European Ambassadors from EuroClub Vayk organised a camping activity in the Arpa Protected Landscape in the Vayots Dzor region of Armenia on 24 March to promote biodiversity and nature protection.
The activity, organised by two local YEAs, aimed to promote the EU’s biodiversity strategy, foster a deeper connection between participants and nature, raise awareness of local biodiversity, and instil a sense of responsibility for conservation efforts.
The 12 young participants took part in guided nature walks facilitated by experts and explored the diverse ecosystems within the protected area and had the chance to observe and learn about local plant and animal species.
At the end of the event, participants were able to take part in an educational workshop on the importance of biodiversity conservation.
The event raised awareness about the importance of biodiversity in maintaining ecological balance, informed local youth about the EU’s biodiversity strategy, and reflected the EU’s commitment to preserving biodiversity and promoting sustainable tourism.
The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative brings together socially engaged youth from the six Eastern Partner countries, the European Union and the United Kingdom to foster dialogue and to raise awareness about the EU and its cooperation with its Eastern partner countries.
