On March 27, the President of the RA National Assembly Alen Simonyan received the delegation led by the Head of the France-Armenia Friendship Group of the National Assembly of the Republic of France Anne-Laurence Petel.
At the beginning of the meeting Alen Simonyan thanked his French colleagues for their visit to Armenia and noted that such visits are of great political and security importance.
Anne-Laurence Petel highly appreciated the inter-parliamentary relations established with Armenia and underlined that the representatives of all factions that are represented in the Friendship Group with big number have a consensus on supporting Armenia.
Regarding the Armenia-EU cooperation, the sides underscored the positive dynamics of the development of relations.

“Armenia deeply highlights the deployment of the EU Observation Mission on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. It is of great importance in the establishment of peace and security in the region,” the NA President noted.
Alen Simonyan presented to his French colleagues the current security situation in the South Caucasus, the humanitarian problems of the persons displaced from Nagorno Karabakh and the issue of the return of Armenian prisoners of wars being held in Azerbaijan.
The perspectives of the development of the Armenia-France cooperation were discussed in the inter-parliamentary, as well as security, economic and other spheres.
The Head of the Armenia-France Friendship Group Vladimir Vardanyan also took part in the meeting.
