During a meeting with a Civil Contract party activist last week, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan compared his activity to Christ’s path. He hinted at his “impeccable” course in his message of the Holy Resurrection. From here, it can be assumed that the members of the CC board perform the actions of the 12 apostles.
Comparing any political or statesman with a spiritual leader (not to mention God) is, to put it mildly, inappropriate from the beginning. Even with the best intentions, those figures are forced to be pragmatic and cynical, to say one thing today and the opposite tomorrow. Especially when it comes to such a head of state, during whose “reign” thousands of compatriots were killed, tens of thousands were deprived of their homes, and the enemy occupied a part of the state. A leader whose power is based on hatred and hostility towards the “formers.”
Of course, making one’s self like God cannot be a subject of discussion in political terms. But psychologists have something to do here. We are talking about the so-called “God complex,” which was first described at the beginning of the 20th century by the Austrian psychologist Alfred Adler and then studied in detail, especially within the framework of the psychoanalytic school.
The behavior of a person suffering from such a complex has certain characteristics. In particular, unjustified high self-esteem, megalomania (delusion of grandeur), obsession with ruling over everyone, giving excessive importance to information about oneself (for example, when the first person of the country spends hours on social networks to “catch” negative opinions about him and organize criminal prosecutions based on their purpose). Another important feature. A person with this complex does not under any circumstances admit his mistakes despite irrefutable evidence.

This psychological complex is sometimes called “compensated narcissism” by experts. The point is that a person longs for admiration to suppress the feeling of shame of his nothingness. Such a complex situation can be observed in any person who aspires to power to one degree or another. It’s just that, in some cases, it acquires a pathological character.
