On April 5, the Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to our country Andrew Turner.
Welcoming the guest in parliament, Sargis Khandanyan congratulated Andrew Turner on being appointed First Resident Ambassador and underscored that the opening of the Embassy of Canada in Armenia will promote the deepening of cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking about the positive dynamics of the Armenian-Canadian inter-parliamentary ties, the Committee Chair expressed conviction that there is unrealized potential of cooperation in a number of spheres.

The Committee Chair expressed his gratitude to the Canadian side for providing humanitarian assistance aimed at meeting the needs of the forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno Karabakh.
Thanking the Committee Chair for reception, the Ambassador noted that he will do his best for the rapprochement pf the parliamentary ties. Andrew Turner also emphasized the development of sectoral cooperation between Canada and Armenia.
