China is one of the important partners of Armenia. The warm relations of the two countries are on rise and are of multi-sided character. The Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration Vagharshak Hakobyan said that during the meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to our country Fan Yong.
The Committee members Khachatur Sukiasyan, Agnesa Khamoyan, Aleksey Sandikov, Irina Gasparyan and Shirak Torosyan took part in the meeting held on April 10.
Speaking about sectoral effective cooperation, Vagharshak Hakobyan noted: “The cooperation is very important for us and is prospective in the defense, security and IT sectors.”

According to the Committee Deputy Chair, the economic relations dynamically develop in bilateral format, as well as in the EAEU framework. It was noted that the volume of trade turnover of 2023 between the countries was 2 billion 127 million USD growing by 21.3 percent compared with the previous year.
Touching upon the EAEU-China relations, Vagharshak Hakobyan mentioned: “We would like China to observe Armenia also as a reliable partner within the framework of the EAEU. This is important for us, and we’ll do our best for making the cooperation more effective.”
The Deputy Chair of the Committee highlighted the bilateral regular contacts, mutual visits in the format of the inter-parliamentary cooperation.
The Ambassador noted that during 32 years of the establishment of the Armenian-Chinese diplomatic relations, the bilateral relations developed in a stable way, and the ties between the peoples became closer. According to Fan Yong, due to bilateral collaboration it has been possible to reach good results in different spheres. “We emphasize the cooperation with Armenia, and we’ll do our best to promote the development of direct cooperation between the parliamentarians of the two countries,” the guest underscored.
He also spoke about the necessity of deepening of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the EAEU. “China promotes the development of the green economy and is ready to introduce that experience to the friendly countries.” The Ambassador said.
The Armenian parliamentarians spoke, particularly about the necessity of deepening the Armenian-Chinese cooperation in the spheres of trade-economy and tourism.
The participants of the meeting expressed readiness to make maximum efforts in expanding the bilateral cooperation.
