By the decision of the Government, changes were made to the list of diseases that determine the degree of suitability of a citizen or serviceman for military service

A regular Cabinet meeting took place today, chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The Government made a decision on making changes to the list of diseases that determine the suitability of a citizen or serviceman for military service. “Statistics show that there is a progressive trend in cases of exemptions for a number of diseases. We are talking about a manifold increase in such cases. We also consulted with the Ministry of Health, and we are talking about diseases that cannot in any way harm a person’s health during service,” said Defense Minister Suren Papikyan.

The Government made a decision in connection with reforms being implemented in the field of education and amendments to the law “On General Education”. The decision proposes to approve the standard charter of the state non-profit organization “Special School-Resource Center of the Republic of Armenia”. As noted by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, the procedure for appointing school directors has been revised: a three-stage appointment process is currently in effect. “In terms of administrative and economic management, the position of separate coordinators has been defined, and now the possibility of delegated administrative and economic functions is being discussed. In particular, together with the partners of the Ministry of Finance, we have already prepared the package to delegate the purchasing and accounting process,” said the minister.

The Government approved the results of the election of Davit Gyurjinyan to the position of rector of V. Bryusov State University. The competition for filling the vacant position of the rector of the university was held on March 29. The competition was conducted in accordance with the university charter and the procedure for electing the rector approved by the Board of Trustees. 18 out of 20 Board members participated in the meeting. As a result of the “for” vote of 18 members of the Board who participated in the closed secret voting, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Davit Gyurjinyan was elected to the position of rector of V. Brusov State University for a period of 5 years.
