The RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Protection debated the package of draft laws providing for amendments and addenda to the draft law on Trade and Services and the related laws at the sitting of April 23 in the second reading. It was presented by the RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan.
The rapporteur noted that the National Assembly has already adopted a package of amendments, which regulated itinerant trade in the city of Yerevan, fixed the powers of the Council of Elders. In particular, issues related to the organization of itinerant trade, areas intended or allowed for trade are defined by the Council of Elders.
The Deputy Minister reminded that a question was raised at the NA sitting, why itinerant trade is allowed only in Yerevan, in response to which it was stated that the law on Trade and Services will be enforced in the capital and after some time, taking into consideration the results, it will be extended on other communities as well. “The time has come and in a certain sense we already have united communities. There is an increase in tourism in Armenia, there are target points where itinerant trade can be useful. With this legislative package, we propose to apply the regulations in all the communities as well,” Vache Terteryan said.
The rapporteur added that the work will be done online: All the communities have electronic platforms.
