On April 19, 2024 an event dedicated to the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was held at the Massachusetts State House organized by the Armenian Genocide Commemorative Committee of Massachusetts. The master of ceremonies of the event was State Rep. David K. Muradian, Jr. And the keynote speaker was Judge Gabrielle Wolohojian.
During the event with the participation of about 300 attendees State Senator Will Brownsberger presented two joint resolutions of the Massachusetts House and Senate, one of which honored 110-year-old Mary Vardanyan one of the last surviving Armenians who lived through the years of the Armenian Genocide, and the other, recognized the work of the ”Armenian Tree Project,” soon to celebrate its 30th anniversary of efforts to help the environment, which has planted over eight million trees in Armenia.
At the event, the Embassy of Armenia in the USA was represented by Vicky Shoghag Hovanessian, Cultural adviser of the Armenian embassy, who conveyed the message of Ambassador Lilit Makunts, dedicated to the commemoration of the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
