Michael Carpenter: the United States stands by Armenia in its democratic development and strengthening sovereignty

The members of the RA NA Armenia-USA Friendship Group – the Head of the Friendship Group, the Head of the NA Civil Contract Faction Hayk Konjoryan, the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan, the Chair of the Standing Committee on European Integration Arman Yeghoyan, the Chair of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Tsovinar Vardanyan, the NA deputy Arsen Torosyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the United States of America Lilit Makunts met with the Aide on Special Issues to U.S. President Joe Biden, Senior Director for Europe at the National Security Council Michael Carpenter.

Michael Carpenter reaffirmed the support of the United States to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia and welcomed the delimitation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan based on Alma-Ata Declaration.

The Armenian MPs highlighted the RA-USA-EU high level meeting held in Brussels on April 5, welcoming the active engagement of the USA and the European Union in strengthening resistance and economic diversification of Armenia.

The Crossroads of Peace project, which can become an important component of regional, as well as wider economic cooperation, was discussed, promoting the regional peace and prosperity.

Michael Carpenter welcomed the steps aimed at strengthening democracy in Armenia, recording that the United States stands by Armenia in its democratic development and strengthening sovereignty.
