Narekatsi was also “clerical”

May 08,2024 15:00

Is it politics, when the world-famous violinist Sergey Khachatryan says before performing Narekatsi’s “Havun Havun” canticle that historical Armenia, our cultural and spiritual values are too essential to him, and he cannot imagine how he will live and create without them?

On the one hand, I think it is clear that the violinist is miles away from politics, although government propagandists may publish his picture, let’s say, with Serzh Sargsyan and from there conclude that he is a “5th column.” But for any person with an unwashed brain, it is evident that the musician is not interested in politics in that sense.

However, on the other hand, while referring to national identity and dignity, every Armenian- a clergyman, layman, musician, or locksmith, should have his say.

However, on the other hand, I am sure that when it comes to national identity and dignity, every Armenian, be he a clergyman, layman, musician, or locksmith, will have his say.

Why do the authorities see danger in such conversations? – Because they know that any topic related to Armenian history, culture, and the Armenian Apostolic Church may be undesirable for Azerbaijan and Turkey.

It is known, for example, that Aliyev demands to change the RA Constitution and our state symbols. And Pashinyan intends to do what the President of Azerbaijan demands of him.

Therefore, it is pointless to ask Pashinyan questions, for example, when and how will the RA Constitution be changed, what schedule will the new territories be handed over, and what “reparations” will the enemy demand from our state? The Prime Minister of Armenia is not a “primary source” in these matters. Those questions should be asked to Aliyev.

Any Armenian who talks about national dignity, even if he does not make any hint about the change of power, hinders this policy of the Armenian authorities.

Grigor Narekatsi was also “clerical”. Maybe we should ban him as well? Especially since Narekavank is located in the territory of modern Turkey.
