The delegation led by the NA President was on a working visit in Switzerland. Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova, the Speaker of the Senate of Canada and the Deputy Speaker of Parliament of Qatar in Geneva. The NA President took part in the First Meeting of the Preparatory Committee for the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament.
This year Armenia was elected for the first time Member of the abovementioned Committee of Speakers of Parliament by the Eurasia Geopolitical Group of the Organization.
The RA NA President Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Senate of Canada Raymonde Gagné and the Deputy Speaker of Parliament of Qatar Hamda bint Hassan Al-Sulaiti within the framework the Meeting of the Preparatory Committee for the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).
Issues of a number of mutual interest were discussed.
