“There is a disaster in Alaverdi, and you are holding a rally here,” preach the Pharisees.
The disaster in Armenia began in November 2020 and continues to this day, particularly in the Tavush region. Those who are guilty and responsible for that disaster should not only remain silent but walk with their eyes cast down.
It is extremely impudent when they not only talk but also argue and accuse others. It is especially absurd that Archbishop Bagrat is being blamed for the flooding in the Lori and Tavush regions. Preparing for natural disasters and handling their consequences is the responsibility of the state. The leadership of the state has been entrusted to you for the past six years. Therefore, do not look for someone else to blame.
Representatives of the authorities, propaganda campaigns, and “fake factories,” with their main speakers, who roam from one TV to other, are assigned to discredit Reverend Bagrat and his leadership movement. The flood and the real tragedy of those affected by it have been used as propaganda “arguments”.

The remaining arguments include Archbishop Bagrat’s alleged connection with Kocharyan and Russia, for which no evidence has been provided, his Canadian citizenship (which could indeed be a legal issue), and the request to freeze his spiritual service. On the last issue, I think the Mother See should clarify whether such a mechanism or practice exists and what it means in practice. Personally, it seems to me that His Holiness can both excommunicate Reverend Bagrat and bless him for political struggle. I see no contradiction here, but I may be wrong.
