“Azerbaijan and Turkey are very concerned about the gradual growth of the holy struggle,” stated Reverend Bagrat, the leader of the “Tavush for the Motherland” movement, in the courtyard of the St. Anna church.
He mentioned that there are regular threats from the Azerbaijani and Turkish sides, including calls to send troops into Armenia. “This should give us a reason for serious analysis. On May 28, two important events took place: first, perhaps seeing that the sacred struggle could not be stopped, President Aliyev himself entered the battle. He said: ‘We are also following the latest events in RA, that’s why we should be ready at any moment. We need to strengthen our army even more.'”
The Most Reverend Bagrat stated that there has been no reaction to this statement from the Armenian side and noted: “They attack us without saying a word, but when Aliev says anything, there is no response at all. Let’s think about that. Perhaps this is also the reason that for a long time in Turkey they have been anxiously watching the development of our struggle. They understand that the victory of the movement will close the window of opportunity opened for them, when they can take everything from RA, making us dependent on them.
Their anxiety has reached the point that Aliyev has to threaten us directly, saying that they will send in troops, and the President of Turkey is holding a Security Council meeting, one of the main topics of which is Armenia. They, who talked about sovereignty incessantly, have not uttered a single word in response to this direct interference in our country’s internal affairs. Our enemies oppose our struggle and rejoice in the violence used by the police. This is already enough to understand that this movement will lead to the strengthening of RA in spite of our enemies. Heydar’s son, Ilham, I know that your representative ambassadors are in Armenia, but they have nothing to do with Armenia and the Armenian people; they are your hostages, your prisoners. You will get the answer from us, from here.”

Reverend Bagrat assured that they will change the course of history. “This is not a matter of removing one person and not removing another. Feel it in your hearts. Forget technology, etc., and understand that each of you is part of a history-changing event. You are the bearer, you are the participant. In 20 years, your children and grandchildren will tell you: ‘We heard that in your time they did something on the street, but you said: I don’t like this, he don’t like that, he did it like this, there was a Reverend, who also came, he said: I am freezing (Let’s note that Bagrat Srbazan has announced he is temporarily freezing his spiritual activities, which has led to sarcastic reactions), I am heating, and everyone left and went home”. Look at yourself in 20 years; we can change history today. Think about this. This is what we need. There is no other value. Think about it clearly. We need will, effort, patience, discipline, and trust. This is all about changing history.”
Reverend Bagrat concluded his speech by saying, “The fight will continue a little more tomorrow.”
