Suren Petrosyan, chairman of the “Democratic Consolidation” party, emphasized, “We often hear the government speak of democracy and attempt to persuade the global community of our democratic status. However, our government has nothing to do with democracy. The cornerstone of democracy is legitimacy, that is, public support. He emphasized that when international authoritative structures talk about democracy in Armenia, they should consider that nowadays, no head of a state structure deems it necessary to engage directly with their own people.
