“In a conversation with journalists in parliament, Foreign Minister General Secretary Davit Karapetyan stated that the process of approving or not approving the agrément of CP faction deputy Gurgen Arsenyan as ambassador to Russia is secret.”
Karapetyan emphasized that there would be no public discourse on the matter until a decision is made, promising to inform the public accordingly.
Rumors have long circulated about the Armenian authorities’ intention to appoint Gurgen Arsenyan as ambassador to the Russian Federation, yet confirmation from the Russian Federation is still pending.
“Journalists also raised questions concerning the presence of posters with inscriptions such as ‘Turkish servants’ and ‘Turkish henchmen’ during the recent demonstration by the ‘Tavush for the Motherland’ movement near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building. The MFA official declined to respond to these inquiries.”
