They Counting on Ignorance

June 15,2024 10:30

Why is Pashinyan resorting to easily debunked lies? A similar question was posed in the ANC’s statement the previous day. For me, the answer is clear: because his lies “passes”. A significant part of society (if not the majority) unconditionally accepts these lies as the truth.

For example, the Prime Minister claims that the 1996 OSCE Lisbon Assembly decided that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue should be resolved within the framework of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.

Tell me, please, how many people will actually research the materials from that assembly to verify that no such decision, or any similar one, was made in Lisbon regarding Artsakh? People are not curious; they don’t want to scrutinize what the person they trust, for whatever rational or irrational reason, is saying. This is nothing but ignorance. This is precisely what they are counting on.

Or, if the official propaganda claims that Reverend Bagrat ordered an attack on the National Assembly, who, from the general public, will demand any evidence, whether audio or video? If the listeners already have a psychological predisposition that any violence against Pashinyan is justified, then there is no need to check anything.

Another lie is that all opposition movements since 2020 are directed against the state. This calculation once again relies on the ignorant, who believe that Pashinyan is synonymous with the state. In reality, the state is your territory, part of which is in enemy hands now; it is your citizens who are in captivity; it is your Constitution that the enemy demands to change.

Therefore, any movement (regardless of our attitude towards the individuals involved) aimed at maintaining territorial integrity, returning captives, and preserving sovereignty is a struggle for the state.

But to understand this, people need to know what the state truly is. And since there is not even an approximate idea about it, they can be “fed” with any lie.
