The Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Armenia, Mr Frank Hess, opened the international conference and fair ‘Local Authorities Enhance Waste Prevention and Management,’ organised a concluding event to showcase the results of ‘Capital Cities Collaborating on Common Challenges in Hazardous Waste Management – Yerevan, Warsaw, Tirana’ project.
The project connected three municipalities – Warsaw, Yerevan, and Tirana- to tackle one of the main issues in every city – waste management.
The cities had a unique chance to exchange best practices, know-how and knowledge and benefit from project deliverables. All three cities were provided with new equipment to help manage their general and hazardous waste management challenges. The project ran between 2019-2024 with an EU contribution of EUR 4.8 million.’
