According to the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister, it is very rare for the state to issue a stamp with a theme dedicated to celebrities, but it is not the first time that a stamp with Parajanov’s image is issued. “This is another opportunity to show Parajanov’s art and talk, talk not only with our compatriots, but also with foreigners, because the stamp is actually a language to talk with foreigners and those who don’t know Armenian. This event is also important in that sense,” Arayik Harutyunyan said.

The stamps also have the inscriptions “Sergei Parajanov” and “Armenian film director” in Armenian and English.

The stamps, designed by Vahagn Mkrtchyan, were printed by the Cartor printing house in France in 30,000 copies.
