Sargis Khandanyan: The Armenia-Serbia relations are special

On June 25, the Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly Sargis Khandanyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Serbia to the Republic of Armenia Tatjana Panajotović Cvetković.

Welcoming the guest, Sargis Khandanyan underlined that the Armenia-Serbia relations are special. According to the Committee Chair, Serbia is one of the few European countries where the RA citizens travel without a visa.

The parties talked about the necessity to deepen the cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries. It was noted that after the parliamentary elections held in Serbia, a Friendship Group will be formed with Armenia in the near future.

Thanking for the reception, the Ambassador underscored that Serbia and Armenia are friendly countries and have many similarities. Tatjana Panajotović Cvetković emphasized the bilateral cooperation on various international platforms.

The interlocutors noted the need to realize the existing potential in the direction of the development of cooperation in the economic, security, educational, cultural and tourism spheres.

Regional security issues were discussed at the meeting. The parties highlighted the establishment of lasting peace in the South Caucasus and the Balkans.
