On June 26, within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Latvia the delegation led by Alen Simonyan met with the President Edgars Rinkēvičs.
The interlocutors discussed issues regarding the wide scope of the Armenia-European Union relations – beginning from the regional current challenges to the concrete aspects of the Armenia-EU Partnership agenda.
The RA NA President thanked the President of Latvia for the support shown to the current democratic reform process in Armenia, in response to which, Edgars Rinkēvičs expressed his readiness to promote the rapprochement of the Armenia-EU relations, as well as the launch of the visa liberalisation dialogue.

Alen Simonyan presented to the President of Latvia the Crossroads of Peace project initiated by the Government of Armenia, noting that it is our roadmap to peace. In his turn, the President of Latvia expressed hope that in the near future, finally, it will be succeeded to sign a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which will guarantee the lasting peaceful development of the region.
Other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed.
