On July 3, the Head of the RA NA With Honor Faction Hayk Mamijanyan and the deputies of the Armenia Faction Artur Khachatryan, Armen Gevorgyan and Anna Grigoryan met with the Congressional delegation led by the U.S. Senator Roger Wicker. The U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Kristina Kvien also took part in the meeting.
Welcoming the members of the delegation in the legislative body of Armenia, Hayk Mamijanyan congratulated the guests on the U.S. National Day – Independence Day.

At the guests’ request, the Armenian deputies touched upon the regional problems and situation, the security issues of Armenia, Armenia-Turkey, Armenia-Azerbaijan relations and the work being done by the RA Government in their settlement, the issues regarding the existing challenges, the destruction or the transformation of the cultural monuments – churches and monasteries in Nagorno Karabakh, the delimitation process going on between Armenia and Azerbaijan, alignment of political forces in the legislative body, the independence of the judicial system.
Speaking about the peace treaty going on between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the opposition deputies addressed the escalating rhetoric and demands of Azerbaijan, particularly noting the fact of not being regulated the problems existing between the two countries, the captives and prisoners of war being in the Azerbaijani prisons, the security guarantees and the warrant’s absence.
Reference was also made to other issues of bilateral interest.
