“When I came to Armenia last year, the ‘Golden Apricot’ film festival, unfortunately, had already ended,” said Jaap Frederiks, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Armenia, at the press conference. He emphasized his happiness with the cooperation between “Golden Apricot” and the Netherlands Embassy.
According to his statement, “‘Golden Apricot’ is not just a festival, but Armenia’s cultural window to the world, showcasing what is happening in Yerevan and providing an external view of the cultural life in Armenia. When Armenians are asked about cultural events, they immediately point to the ‘Golden Apricot’ film festival.”
Ambassador Frederiks expressed his pleasure that the ‘Golden Apricot’ festival daily has been published for the fourth year in a row with the support of the embassy. He also mentioned the involvement of Dutch film critics in the origins of the festival, and the overall Dutch contribution to the organization of the festival.
