“Today I’m both saddened and angry at the barbaric destruction wrought this morning by Russian rockets in Ukraine,” said PACE President Theodoros Rousopoulos.
“The number of victims has yet to be established, as many are still trapped under the debris, children and adults alike, including medical staff, as the largest children’s hospital has been damaged, with the building housing the intensive care, toxicology and infectious diseases departments completely destroyed, and other buildings severely damaged.”
“My support goes to the relatives of the victims. On behalf of the Parliamentary Assembly, I reiterate our condemnation of these barbaric attacks, and call for more support for Ukraine in terms of air defence systems.”
