Deputy Prime Ministers Mher Grigoryan and Tigran Khachatryan received the delegation led by Erin Mckee, Assistant Administrator in the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia (E&E) at USAID.
At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan presented the implementation process of the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative, referring to its political, transport, energy and other components. The technical and economic feasibility analysis of the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative implemented with USAID support was highlighted. The parties also exchanged views on the development of the capital market and opportunities for trade boosting.
Referring to the Armenian government’s efforts to ensure stable and dignified living conditions for forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan presented the works being carried out in the direction of ensuring their housing and employment. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized cooperation with USAID in this matter, especially in the direction of employment promotion.
The parties also exchanged views on public administration reforms, digital transformation, strategic communication and cooperation in disaster risk management. The importance of capacity building and increasing the resilience of institutions was emphasized.
