At the session on July 18, the government approved a decision to redistribute more than 15 million drams within the budget allocated to the Ministry of Education and Culture. As Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport (ESCS) Zhanna Andreasyan explained, the funds will be used to promote the exhibition, which is crucial for museum activities.
“This fall, we are planning to open a joint exhibition with the British Museum at the History Museum of Armenia. This will be a significant step towards the internationalization of the museum sector,” said Andreasyan.
The minister stated that the exhibition is scheduled to open on September 21, 2024, as part of the Republic of Armenia’s Independence Day celebrations. It is expected that over the six months of the exhibition, the museum will receive at least 300,000 visitors. The publicity campaign is anticipated to reach between 800,000 and 1,000,000 people.
“The preserved head and hand from the famous bronze statue attributed to the goddess Anahit, which are part of the permanent exhibition at the British Museum, will be displayed in Armenia. They will be exhibited alongside various artifacts related to the theme of motherhood, preserved in the History Museum of Armenia and dating from different periods. This is a highly anticipated event for our society,” added Zhanna Andreasyan.
