EU NEIGHBOURS east. On 17 October, during his visit to the Lori Region of Armenia, European Ambassador to Armenia Vassilis Maragos, together with a number of ambassadors from EU member states, met with the Governor of Lori Aram Ghazaryan and discussed EU support for regional development.
The EU Ambassador also handed over to Vanadzor Mayor Arkadiy Peleshyan five electrical buses, procured as part of the EU-funded ‘ABC.GoV: Alliance for Better City Governance’ project, implemented in Vanadzor.
“This marks a significant step towards cleaner transportation and responsible urban planning, symbolising our shared commitment to a healthier environment for all,” said Maragos. “These eco-friendly electric buses, reducing pollution and noise, align perfectly with the European Union’s vision for sustainable cities and combating climate change.”
During their visit to Lori Region, the European ambassadors also met refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh.
