On October 18, in Istanbul, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Seyed Abbas Araghchi. The meeting took place within the framework of the Ministerial session of the “3+3” regional consultative platform.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Iran discussed issues on the agenda aimed at further development of bilateral cooperation.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Seyed Abbas Araghchi exchanged views on regional security issues. Within the framework of the vision of ensuring stability in the South Caucasus, the interlocutors touched upon the normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, including the importance of signing a peace treaty.
The principled approach on unblocking regional economic and transport communications, with respect for sovereignty and jurisdiction, was reaffirmed.
