Educational Trip to Moscow

In October 2024, eleven gifted young musicians of the “Music for Future” Foundation traveled to Moscow to participate in the XXI International Festival “Moscow Meets Friends.” This prestigious event, organized by the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation, brought together exceptional young talent from around the globe to perform, connect, and celebrate classical music.

The Festival: A Celebration of Talent and Cultural Exchange

Held from October 2 to 10, this year’s festival marked the 30th anniversary of the Spivakov International Charity Foundation. Known as one of the most distinguished children’s music festivals in Russia, it has over the decades discovered and nurtured thousands of young talents, many of whom have gone on to become prominent figures in classical music.

The festival welcomed participants from 28 countries, creating a platform for young musicians to showcase their skills and engage in cultural exchange, with Armenia’s talent shining among them.

Showcasing Armenian Talent on the International Stage

The young musicians of the “Music for Future” Foundation represented Armenia with pride, performing in some of Moscow’s most prestigious venues: the Museum of Russian Impressionism, Children’s Art School named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, Rachmaninov Hall of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery, and the Beethoven Hall of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.

Their performances of works by composers such as Sarasate, Pechenka, Liszt, Gershwin and Mangani, Rimsky-Korsakov, Scriabin, Strauss, Wieniawski, Vogt, and Goens captivated audiences, demonstrating both technical excellence and musical artistry.

Young Virtuosos of the Foundation

Representing the “Music for Future” Foundation, these young musicians proudly took the stage: Arpi Arabyan (violin, 11y.o), Mark Minasyan (piano, 13y.o), Elen Khachikyan (piano, 16y.o), Edgar Mkhitaryan (piano, 16y.o), Arsen Balayan (clarinet, 17y.o), Gor Yenokyan (trombone, 15y.o), Mari Danielyan (piano, 16y.o), Martin Arshakyan (french horn, 17y.o), Eduard Dayan (violin, 15y.o), Aren Toplaghaltsyan (cello, 11y.o), and Tigran Gasparyan (oboe, 16y.o).

Experiences That Shape the Future

For these young musicians, the festival was not only an opportunity to shine internationally but also a journey of personal and professional growth. They returned home inspired, with broadened perspectives and new skills that will be invaluable in their future musical careers. This experience deepened their appreciation of beauty and transformative power of music.
