As American winemaker Neal Rosenthal wisely notes, “The best of wines always proudly tell you where they come from.” This is especially true in Armenia, where winemaking is both a heritage and a path forward.
This week, USAID/Armenia Mission Director John Allelo joined Armenian winemakers at Alluria Vineyard for a valuable roundtable discussion. It was an opportunity to share insights from recent international expos, visits, and local festivals—all aimed at enhancing Armenia’s reach in new markets and expanding wine tourism.
“By supporting winemakers in reaching sophisticated markets and raising awareness of Armenian wines, USAID contributes to a dynamically growing wine industry that fosters economic growth and job creation,” John Allelo remarked. “Through partnerships with government and private sector stakeholders, we are enhancing the enabling environment and expanding market opportunities for Armenian wines.”
USAID is proud to stand with Armenia’s winemakers in putting Armenian wine on the world map!
