Washington, D.C. – Former President Donald J. Trump has won a second presidential term defeating Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. During the campaign, Trump pledged to “protect” the persecuted Christians of Artsakh, “to stop the violence and ethnic cleansing,” and “restore PEACE between Armenia and Azerbaijan.” Harris, for her part, stated the importance of the right of return and remained “committed to a lasting peace between Armenia and its neighbors that respects sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.”
“The Armenian Assembly looks forward to working with the new Administration and Congress to bolster Armenia’s security and energy independence, increase aid to help the Armenians of Artsakh, hold Azerbaijan accountable for its genocidal actions against the Armenian people, release of the prisoners of war, and the fundamental right of return,” said Assembly incoming Co-Chairs Oscar Tatosian and Talin Yacoubian.
