The tête-à-tête meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Finland was followed by an enlarged meeting.
The interlocutors discussed opportunities for developing cooperation in various sectors, including trade, business ties, information technologies and education, in line with political dialogue. Ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening democratic institutions and support of Finland programs in this regard were specified.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Elina Valtonen held detailed discussions on the agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership. They touched upon the dynamics of developing relations, active public discourse on this matter, the wide scope of the new developing partnership agenda and potential prospects. Among the key tools implemented in cooperation with EU institutions and member states, the launch of dialogue on visa liberalization, the provision of support to Armenia under the European Peace Facility, and the significance of the activity of the EU Monitoring Mission were highlighted.
The discussion also touched upon cooperation within /on the margins of multilateral platforms including Chairmanship of Finland in OSCE.
