Two days ago, Lebanese Broadcasting International News agency (LBCI) released information informing us that Michel de Chadarevyan has been appointed Advisor to the President of the Republic of Lebanon on Diplomatic Relations.
Interview with Michel de Chadarevyan, a veteran Lebanese politician.
– Mr. Chadarevyan, I would like to try to understand the temporary ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel.
– The three sides interpret it differently. Hezbollah says that it has fulfilled its demands and there is no need for further action on their part, Israel insists that the deal must be implemented, otherwise it will attack again.

Hezbollah’s Lebanese political rivals are demanding that Hezbollah take this agreement seriously.
– Can you explain the details of this agreement to us?
– In short, this agreement means surrender for Hezbollah, whatever you may call it: defeat, temporary retreat, victory. It is based on UN Resolution 1710, and Hezbollah will surrender its weapons.
The speaker of the Lebanese parliament, an ally of Hezbollah, negotiated and approved this agreement, which is not only based on Resolution 1701, but also goes back to UN Resolutions 1680 and 1559, which clearly state that only the national armed forces, the Lebanese army, as well as the internal security forces are legitimate in Lebanon. And therefore, will have the right to bear arms.
There is clear, concreate and specific sections in the agreement that state who has the right to bear arms, their names listed one by one, down to the last detail.
Hezbollah had previously had the opportunity to hand over its weapons to the Lebanese army, but they refused to do so, which led to this devastating Israeli military operation against Lebanon.
The ideal solution at the moment is for Hezbollah to hand over its weapons to the Lebanese army. If they refuse to do so, it will cost them dearly; the control over the implementation of the agreement is entrusted to American and French officers, which means taking those weapons away from them by force.
– Are you concerned that if the Lebanese army tries to deal harshly with Hezbollah by taking away its weapons, it will lead to a civil war in Lebanon?
– No, today Hezbollah knows very well that all its passages are blocked, and it cannot acquire new weapons, its arsenal will run out, the Syrian border is closed.
