On February 7, within the framework of his official visit to Norway, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan visited the Fridtjof Nansen Institute.
Minister Mirzoyan made a note in the guest book of the Fridtjof Nansen Institute: “It is a great honor to visit the Fridtjof Nansen Institute. Nansen’s legacy and his humanitarian efforts ensuring the survival of thousands of Armenians remain an unparalleled act of humanity that Armenia will never forget.
As we continue to strengthen Armenian-Norwegian ties, we remain committed to upholding the principles of human dignity, solidarity and moral responsibility that Nansen so passionately championed and embodied”.

During a brief discussion held at the Institute, both sides emphasized the significance of Nansen’s humanitarian efforts in supporting Armenian refugees who had survived the Armenian Genocide, as well as the profound respect for his work in both Armenia and Norway.
The prospects for expanding cooperation with the Institute were also touched upon. The importance of deepening bilateral scientific ties and maximizing new opportunities for exchange of experience was highlighted, including within the framework of Armenia’s hosting of the UN Biodiversity Conference.
Minister Mirzoyan toured the Institute and laid a wreath at the grave of the distinguished Norwegian humanist and scientist.
